Organic SEO
I have encountered this term over and over again in one SEO forum/mailinglist I subscribe to. So today I finally typed organic SEO in google – should have done that a long time ago.
One of the best resource I’ve found is Organic SEO Wiki. While reading the wiki, I try to evaluate what I have done in the past. Happy to say that, I still have a lot to learn. Though some techniques I’ve employed was included, there are still some that needs to be done to successfully SEO a site organically.
I used to frown upon directories. But after reading the wiki and after the first suggestion on this site, I began to think the other way around. Directories are there for a purpose. They help your site get indexed faster. They provide a way to increase your link popularity and your pagerank.
It’s easy to increase the number of inbound links to this site through link trading/exchange. But just what is written in Organic SEO wiki, a sudden surge in inbound links makes spiders/crawlers suspicious and may penalized a site instead of rewarding it.
I also considered “doorway pages” but discounted it in the end. More of it in the future.
